Last night I posted a little beat I had started crafting. I thought I was just going to leave it at that, but then I changed my mind and decided to write some lyrics over it. I don’t have a hook yet, but I wrote a rap section in the middle. Ha… I’m not a rapper though.

Anyways, it’s gonna be a little diddy about cars or cruisin’ or something along those lines. I love how rappers are always bragging about the money, fame and cars they have, so I like to write my own stuff truthfully based in banal mediocrity. That’s keeping it real.

Every once in a while, I’ll come up with a beat or little instrumental that has no real purpose, and I’ll have no clue as to what to do with it. Sometimes I’ll use them as background music in a video, but sometimes they just sits on my computer forever.

Here’s a little beat I cranked out a few hours ago for no particular reason.

The working title is “Canthor.” It doesn’t mean anything. It was just the first thing that I thought of when this beat was playing in my head. Most of my tracks have these working project titles until I have proper lyrics or a theme to rename the song to. For example, Rap Kwe$t was actually called “Hot Cheetos” for about 3 1/2 years before it became Rap Kwe$t.

Anyways, I’m talking too much.

I just found out about this upcoming movie titled “Cowboys & Aliens” starring Olivia Wilde, Harrison Ford, Daniel Craig, and Sam Rockwell. Plus it was written by Damon Lindelof, Robert Orci and Alex Kurtzman
There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that this movie will be thoroughly awesome.

Absolutely. I need to visit this restaurant before I die. All I need is an excuse to drop a little extra cash on a delicious meal. Looking at the menus and reviews is making me beyond hungry…

This is Porcupine Racetrack. I was watching the brilliant sketch comedy show The State when I came across this gem of a song written by Thomas Lennon (Reno 911, Night at the Museum, 17 Again) in the early 1990’s.

I had to write an arrangement for it. So I did.

Eventually, it made its way back to Thomas Lennon himself, in addition to Michael Ian Black and Michael Showalter of Stella.

I think by completing his life, I have completed my own.

Today is November 16th, 2010. It has been quite some time since I have regularly blogged.

I remember before the Facebook craze, Myspace had it’s tyrannical reign. And before Myspace was Xanga. What I loved about Xanga was the fact that it was a module of user-generated content and originality. Poetry, essays, photos, videos, sketches, ideas, anecdotes, it allows for creative productivity. Myspace was nothing but a cesspool of incompatible html strings. Facebook, which I love, allows one to share their activities, and ideas to an extent, but it has only really been these pure blogs that really push the envelope when it comes to creativity.

Tis refreshing indeed to see a return to such outlets.
